How I Spent the Last Week of Autumn - The Spit

Posted on 5 June, 2017 at 0:20 Comments comments (0)

I love autumn on the Gold Coast as it offers the perfect weather. I am one of those people who really feel cold in winter. So I made sure to get out in the sun before colder days take over the weather. The best way to do that is to enjoy the lovely warm sun on the skin, absorb as much vitamin D as possible and be outdoor. Nothing like fresh air. So, I decided to go to the beach as much as I could, my choice was The Spit.

How about you? How do you love spending beautiful sunny days?

Please leave a comment I would love to hear from you.

Riding in Albert Park

Posted on 28 May, 2017 at 23:55 Comments comments (0)

The Gold Coast has amazing beaches, but it also has stunning parks. I had a wonderful weekend with my family on the weekend riding a bike. The weather is being so wonderfully warm and inviting that we decided to make the most of it. Saturday we went bike riding in Albert Park.

Great to take the dog too. This is my beautiful dog enjoying time outdoors with us.

This park has a long paved area for you to ride a bike, walk or even go jogging. As you can see we chose bikes. Here you ride and discover beautiful spaces such this one. I love water, if you also like doing any type of sport near water, you must visit Albert Park.

As you ride along you will pass exercise areas and beautiful trees. The kids will love it.

Take a break and enjoy. This is the best part of a day out.

Do you like bike riding? Where is your favourite spot to ride a bike? Please leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.

A Piece of Paradise in NSW

Not far from the Gold Coast, just past the Queensland border there is a hidden piece of Paradise called Fingal Head.

As soon as you arrive at Fingal Reserve, be prepared to let nature take your breath away as it welcomes you to walk through a beautiful road that creates a natural arch with tall trees meticulously standing on both sides forming an arch over your head. Take some time here to enjoy the view, and as you walk look around you and breathe the fresh air.

After a stunning short walk through the woods, we finally arrived at the top of the hill to be gifted by this amazing view.

Take a moment to appreciate your surroundings. Go for a walk, and be surprised by the unique beauty of this area.

Make sure to get some pictures of the beautiful lighthouse. There is a lot of history here too, from James Cook's visit to the construction of the Lighthouse.

If you can stay for the stunning Sunset do not think twice. Bring your camera and you will not be disappointed with the show displayed by nature. All the images above were taken by my 11 year-old son, I am so proud of him.

This is the tree featured on my bag in these images. It was taken during the golden hour (sunset) in a previous visit.

And the beautiful lighthouse.

Thank you for being here with me.

Leave a comment, I woud love to hear from you.

Brisbane's Greek Festival

Posted on 22 May, 2017 at 0:45 Comments comments (0)

Yesterday Brisbane was booming as many people gathered at the Brisbane Greek Festival! The atmosphere was great with dance, happy people of all cultures, food to die for and dance.

Delicious halloumi cheese (made of a mixture of sheep and goat's milk) being cooked right in front of us.

If you have not tried Honey Puffs before you don't know what you are missing out as they are crispy on the outside, soft inside and finished off with drizzled gooey honey on top. Yummy!

I could not resist and tried a variety of foods of course.

Everything was so amazing, the colours and the great weather took me back to one of my favourite places on Earth - the Greek Islands.

I cannot wait for the Greek Festival again next year!

Have you been to Greece? What is your favourite place in Greece? Leave a comment below♥

5 Free Things You Can Do on the Gold Coast

Posted on 19 May, 2017 at 21:10 Comments comments (0)

The Gold Coast is a stunning holiday destination in the state of Queensland in Australia. There is a lot to do and see here. Today I would like to invite you to visit the city I live and I will show a few places where the locals go and they are all for free. All images below are mine.

This stunning image features a duna cover available in Shop HOMEDECOR

First go for a walk and watch the amazing skyline of the most famous beach on the Gold Coast - Surfers Paradise.

One of my favourite spots is the Burleigh Heads National Park. It is easy to access and you can choose a light fairly easy walk with stunning views of the ocean on one side and the forest on the other side. You can even go swimming at the beach. Make sure you use the man made paths that will take you there. If you feel more adventurous, there is a walk through the bush and it will take you up, so you will have a view from a different angle.

The famous beaches of the Gold Coast are famous for many reasons. They are clean, stunning and great for swimming and surf. Currumbin Beach is one of my favourite beaches. Go exploring and take time to admire the majestic views, don't forget the camera as this is a very picturesque seaside.More images of Currumbing Beach go to Article 9 Yoga Poses to Start Your Day

If you like flowers, take some time to visit the Gold Coast Botanic Gardens. Beautiful to walk around and also a place of great views. Very easy to access, free carpark available inside, large open areas for picnics. Take time to observe the wildlife.

We will finish our tour today at Tallebudgera Creek. As you can see, enjoy the beautiful sunset by the water.

When I was a child I dreamt of conquering the world. I had it all planned and it was so clear in my mind how I was going to become successful and do everything I wanted by the age of twenty. Uau! What a ride it has been since that thought to now! Life showed me so many turns and experiences that I could not even have imagined it could possibly happen. Now, photographing landscapes, animals and having it all featured in fashion feels like the pieces of a very difficult puzzle have finally been found.

Many people ask me How did you become a photographer? And why fashion? After I have danced my way through life, learnt languages, written books and travelled the world this is what happened. After I wrote my first novel, One Way Trip by Cris A Santos available on Amazon I needed to photograph landscape images to produce a book trailer for my novel. HERE

So, when I watched the book trailer of my novel produced with my images, I knew that was the career change that I wanted. Thinking back, this was actually one of my first passions in life - Photography and Fashion as I was modelling from a very young age. So I enrolled myself in a Photography and Design course. Initially, I started selling images and canvas online, I was lost because I had to compete with thousands of photographers. Until one day, I received an email from Vida inviting me to become a Vida Designer.

This is scarf is from my Vida collection. See full collection here.

Vida also has an educational program, so when a person purchases an item from Vida, this person is not only going to wear and live art. This person is also giving hope to a family in Pakistan where the beautiful work of art is being produced, as they help the people working for them and their families providing them with an opportunity to learn. From there, I became a collaborating artist with Vida and two other companies Redbubble and Zazzle, and PhotosbyCris Designs was born please click PhotosbyCrisDesigns to see Full Redbubble and Zazzle Collections

The Canals of Venice

Posted on 15 May, 2017 at 2:45 Comments comments (0)

Ciao! The beautiful Venezia as the Italians call it, is a place that has fascinated everyone and will continue fascinating so many forever. The endless canals are as amazing as they are unique. I invite you to come aboard my gondola and experience a ride of a life time.

The famous Rialto bridge.

The canals cut the city and the locals live in an unique way. The water is at their door steps. The gorgeous buildings rise from the flowing waters giving the impression of a floating historic city.

Look up as you will be introduced to the famous places that once accommodated famous people just like this one.

Gondolas are everywhere, the gondoliers are extremely friendly and they even sing to you as you take a trip in this picturesque city. It is so romantic! Many people get engaged here and it is definitely a destination for newlyweds.

There are gorgeous bridges across Venice and you will get to pass under so many.

Definitely recommend a tour by gondolas as it is an once in a lifetime experience. A way of seeing Venice from a compelling point of view.

Venice is definitely a city of dreams. Also take time to walk around and in that way you will have a full experience and see the city from different perspectives.

What is your favourite city in Italy?

Thanks for coming with me in this ride. For more please follow my blog" target="_blank">

9 Yoga Poses to Help You Start Your Day

Posted on 5 May, 2017 at 21:10 Comments comments (0)

I love starting the day well from the time I open my eyes to the time I go to bed at night. A great way of achieving this is through yoga. I get up, head to the beach and stretch my body as I listen to the sound of the waves and watch the playful seagulls. To finish my yoga section, I simply take some time to meditate and feel grateful for life and the wonderful world we live in. ♥♥♥
